Dear you,
A year ago I was jet-lagged and amazed in Australia.
The coastlines, mountains, and dust storms greeted us.
Everything was new and exciting, yet similar and comfortable.
A year ago I was stuffy-nosed and cold in Australia.
My bed only had one pillow in it, my doona was Hawaiian flowered.
The warm shower was my favorite part of the day.
A year ago I was happy my host-sister wore red Converse shoes in Australia.
The youth group made us dress up like old people.
My team bonded over Australian Idol each Sunday evening.
A year ago I was filled with "what if" questions and unknown outcomes in Australia.
And now I know the answers as they're all memories and stories.
One wall is filled with pictures of what and who was apart of my daily life.
A year later I'm reflecting on things in Australia.
Some days it feels like years ago, some days it feels like last week.
But here I am, back and living the American life.
.Sigh. I've gotta go.
My mind's to overwhelmed with too many things.
Sincerely,
Shae
