dear you,
australia day, known as invasion day to those longing for justice, is the anniversary of the first ships that discovered the country. the typical australian spends the day decked out in red and blue, goes to the beach, has a barbecue, enjoys some drinks, and plays some form of cricket.
i, however, spent my day sketching my backyard.
but the evening was filled with greatness. we drove through the hills of outer-canberra, waded in a river with 8 other friends, ate lots and lots of fresh food...all the while listening to triple j's (a radio station) top 100 songs of 2009. after the winner was revealed, we headed back home, stopping by the lake to watch fireworks. good day? you know it.
